  • Two ready players are drawn for a duel. Waiting players keep their place.
  • 2–16 players, single elimination. Each move has 30 seconds; running out of time loses the match. After two draws, play on a 4 × 4 board with three in a row and 20 seconds per move. Another draw starts a new round with the other player going first.

Block the next threat

If your opponent has two symbols in a line, protect the remaining square unless you can win immediately.

Create two threats

The centre and corners can help build a fork: two possible winning lines your opponent cannot block with one move.
