GTA RP · FiveM · Beginners welcome

Find your GTA RP server and the players to live in it

Whitelists, rules, character creation: RP has its codes, and the right server changes everything. Understand what you're looking for, pick a city that fits you and meet adult RP players.

Core concept

Find a group or recruit players with a Lobby

On Zlobby, you do not just browse profiles. You create a Lobby with a goal, criteria and a discussion space to gather the right people around a specific mission.

Lobby creation

Recruit players for a guild, team or event

A Lobby announces what you want to build: ranked roster, MMO guild, TTRPG table, Discord squad, carpool or convention group.

Members apply, you filter by criteria, then the group starts with a dedicated chat.

GTA RP is not a GTA Online mode

Roleplay happens on FiveM community servers, a modding platform for GTA V on PC. Every server is a city with its own scripts, economy, jobs, police, factions — and above all its rules. You don't « win » there: you embody a character whose story matters more than their bank account.

That's also why choosing the server is the real first decision: two cities can share the same map and have nothing else in common.

Reading a city before moving in

Whitelisted or open

A whitelist filters through applications: more waiting, but more serious RP and invested players.

Expected RP level

Casual or strict immersion: check the tolerance for out-of-character talk and the microphone requirement.

The city's orientation

Some cities live through legal jobs, others through factions: find the one that tells your kind of stories.

Community and moderation

An active moderation team and a living Discord make the difference over time.

The rules are not decoration

Serious servers sanction behaviour that breaks the story: killing without an RP reason, using information learned outside the game, abandoning an ongoing scene or ignoring consequences for your character. The jargon has names for all of this, but the essence fits in one sentence: your character lives in the city, they don't visit it.

Read the rulebook before applying — whitelist applications often ask you to prove you did, with a credible character backstory to match.

Where to look for your city

Zlobby's FiveM server directory presents listings maintained by the operators themselves: RP framework, whitelist process, live measured status and a community wall. Enough to compare cities on what matters, not on promotional screenshots.

Find the players before, or with, the server

Arriving as a group changes the experience: a crew that lands together can start a business, an RP family or a faction project right from character creation. Create a Lobby on Zlobby to present your project — target city, the kinds of stories you want, play slots — and recruit the characters your scenario is missing.

GTA RP frequently asked questions

Do I need to own GTA V to play on FiveM?
Yes, a legitimate PC copy of GTA V is required. FiveM installs alongside the game and doesn't affect GTA Online.
Is a microphone mandatory?
On most serious cities, yes: voice RP is the norm. Some servers accept text RP — the server's listing says so.
I've never roleplayed — where do I start?
With a city that explicitly welcomes beginners, and a simple character. A believable gas-station employee beats an incoherent crime lord.
Is Zlobby an RP server?
No. Zlobby helps you find servers and players, and hosts the cities' listings; the RP itself happens on the operators' servers.
Is Zlobby affiliated with Rockstar Games or Cfx.re?
No. Zlobby is independent; Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar Games, FiveM and Cfx.re belong to their respective owners.
